Mangakan

Website & app

React native

Graphql

MongoDB

With a friend, I am designing and developing an app whose goal is to help manga and manhwas readers keep tabs of what they are reading and at which chapter they are at.

Context 💡

During one of COVID lockdown I talked with Chloe, a friend of mine, and we came to the conclusion that it was a drag to keep tabs of the mangas and manwhas we were reading. After seeing there were not a satisfying solution on the stores, we decided to make our own.

Process 🚀

👉🏻

The first thing we did was to meet one afternoon and list every ideas that came to our mind. With that in mind, we created a notion workspace and started organizing our ideas. Simultaneously, we started to ask our friends about their needs and ideas concerning the app.

👉🏻

Then we decided I was in charge of design, she of the database and that we would both work on the development of the app.

👉🏻

I chose to use Figma to build my design, and I asked Valentine, a designer who is also a good friend, to help me with the design.

👉🏻

I first started to code the landing page for which I used Gatsby, to have a very low environmental impact.

👉🏻

Then, I started working on the application. I use React native, Mercurius, Graphql and MongoDB to implement the app. At this day, the app is soon to be published on the PlayStore and when everything will be working, I will start the publication on the AppStore.
